Our fantastic four state reps on their way to Tassie to represent the State.
Good Luck Gemma, Jake , Liam and Aidan.
The TTGLAC Committee believes that one of the keys to a strong and successful club is the quality of coaching and the quantity of training opportunities. To achieve this the club has invested heavily in formal coaching accreditation courses for its coaches/volunteers. This will continue during 2012.
Athletics Australia has a formal Coach Accreditation Framework in place. An illustration of this is attached and more information can be found on the Athletics SA web-site:
http://www.athleticssa.com.au/
It defines six levels (Level 0 to Level 5) and three pathways (Junior Pathway, Participation Pathway, and Performance Pathway). Our objective is to have a spread of coaches across levels 0 to 3. Our current accredited coaches are:
Level 3 - Advanced Event Group Coach Sprints/Hurdles/Relays: John Bos, Grahame Ellis, Craig Hams Distance/Steeplechase/Walks: John Bos Jumps/Pole Vault: - Throws: John Bos
Level 2 - Club Coach Di Ferguson, Andrew Norbury, Trish Marshall,
Level 1 - Beginning Coach Paula Blagrove, Daniela Lawlor
Level 0 - Little Athletics Introduction to Coaching Celine Barr Matthew Burns Emma Chalmers Tim Chalmers Kym Collins Trevor Jackson Anthony McDonald Mark McKenzie Amy McLatchie Cam Rudge Julia Sambell Annie Simpson Narelle Vink Daryl Whitnell
We have funding for approximately 6-7 training courses from Level 1 to Level 3 for 2012. The priority areas are:
Some courses have been scheduled by Athletics SA. Details are available on the web-site. These take between one and two full days of attendance on a weekend. We know that additional courses are available on request (we did this last year for the Level 3 Sprints).
Funding is also set aside for another Level 0 course in late 2012. This is run by the SALAA Coaches Club and the TTGLAC Level 3 Coaches.
If you are interested in enhancing your coaching qualifications please contact John Bos or Craig Hams and nominate yourself to undertake a course. The TTGLAC Committee will be the final arbiter of whether your application is successful based on the recommendations of the Education Officer and senior coaches. Should you be successful there is an expectation that you will assist in coaching TTGLAC athletes for a period of at least one year. This isn't too onerous since many hands make light work and we have already found this to be the case during the 2011/2012 T&F season.

phpinfo(); ?> AGM and Trophy Presentation Day 28 March 2010 at 10am Please find below a link to an
invitation to attend the Annual General Meeting for the Tea Tree Gully Athletics
Centre Inc and Little Athletics Trophy Presentation Day. Please note that this
day has been scheduled for Sunday 28th March 2010 starting at 10am. For Athletics Centres to function successfully support is required from all parents. Each week parents give up their time so that our children enjoy the benefits of athletics. Meetings, such as the AGM, are important to look at what we’ve achieved during the season and to plan for the future. From a Little Athletics point of view, each year the Committee positions become vacant and we look to members to fill these roles. This year will be my last as President after a number of years on the Committee in various positions. A majority of the Committee has indicated that they will be renominating but we still look for new members to get involved and assist. For those that are not familiar with the structure of the Centre we have three Committees. Sub-Committees for the Seniors and Little Athletics and a Centre Management Committee that oversees both the Sub-Committees. We’ve been advised that our Centre Management Committee President, Steve Fairfield will also not be renominating for the position. This provides an opportunity for another Parent to step forward and continue the good work that Steve has given the Centre while in this role. So, some important decisions to be made at the AGM. I look forward to seeing all families present at the meeting and supporting your Athletics Centre and your children.
Regards
7 February 2010 We will be holding a Working Bee on Sunday 14th February 2010 to paint the veranda on the Clubrooms. Wear some old clothes and just us a hand. Results from PB Day are located on the Association website. www.salaa.org.au ____________________________________________________ 11/12/2009 Only two meets to go before Christmas. This weekend we’re back at home on Sunday morning at 9.15am and the following week we break up for Christmas. Hopefully this year the weather is kinder for our Break Up (washed out last year). Santa will be attending the meet and we will have a few goodies for the kids. Let’s make sure that everyone gets along to the final meet for 2009. This weekend the Under 7 Age group will be looking after the BBQ so it would be great for parents in that age group to organise a rotation during the meet. Congratulations to all the Athletes that competed at the State Relay Championships last Sunday. Tea Tree Gully came in fourth overall which is an excellent effort. Tea Tree Gully recorded two State Best Performances on the day. The first was in the Under 11 Boys 4 x 200m Relay (well done to Nicholas Marshall, Harrison Hunt, Alistair Barr and Liam Gill). The second was in the Under 17 Mixed 4 x 100m Relay (Roger Van Der Linden, Brandon Pattison, Katelyn Van Der Linden and Jessica Narcisi). Other medallists included: Under 11 Boys Field Relay (Jake Adey
& Adam Gambles - Gold) Don’t forget to get your Raffle Tickets and payment back in for the ‘200’ Club Raffle. There are some Families that have not yet received their tickets so please pick them up from the Canteen on Sunday. As there are only 200 tickets some Families that registered late unfortunately missed the allocation. Any tickets not collected this Sunday will be offered to those families and others that wish to buy tickets. The first Draw will take place on the following Sunday at the Christmas Break Up. A reminder to parents that you need to be on the oval while your children are participating in events, all Chaperones should be ensuring that Parents initial the recording sheets. Any Athletes that do not have a Parent or Guardian present will be required to sit out until a parent arrives. See you all on Sunday _________________________________
27/10/2009 It looks like the weather is going to be hot this weekend. The current forecast temperature is 36 degrees. Munno Para have indicated that if the temperature remains as forecast then the program will be modified. This is still to be confirmed and I will update the website as I receive further information.
This weekend we head to Munno Para Little Athletics Centre for the Regional Games. The event starts with a warm up at 9.15am and events commencing at 9.30am. This event is for Registered Athletes and you must wear your Centre Uniform with Registration Number affixed to the front. If you are waiting on tops please make sure that the Rego Number is attached to your top. Don’t forget to bring a chair and look for the big maroon TTG Tent when you get there. For those that haven’t been before, this day is just like a normal home meet except with other Centres. Each Age Group will still be chaperoned by our Parents and we will have our Recording Books there for the results to be collected. It looks like its going to be warm (forecast 29 on Sunday) so bring a hat, sun screen and drink plenty of water.
Also, TTG has been assigned the Long Jump for it to provide Officials for the day. Parents will be asked to assist with the running of the event. We are currently putting a roster together which we will put up on the Tent for all to see. Can you please check this when you get there on Sunday.
I look forward to seeing everyone there, it should be a great day. If you have any questions please send me an email. Regards
