Hi all

Please find attached a note from our coaching coordinator John Bos regarding Cross Country Training. Don’t forget your fees allow you to compete at the winter events as well. He runs fantastic sessions which are good fun and parents can get involved too. A bit of fitness work for you.

Please find attached the updated TTGLAC Cross Country Training Schedule. It includes the SALAA Cross Country competition events.

The first cross country training session is this Saturday 7 April 2012. It is located at Angove Conservation Park (entrance of Bowen Road) and starts at 9:00am. A map is attached. Training will be based around a Cross Country Easter Egg Hunt.

Training then occurs every Wednesday and Sunday (non-competition days). Please note the start times on Wednesday training sessions as they become progressively earlier to ensure we have enough daylight.

All are welcome. If you have any questions phone John Bos on 0437 088 087.

So this weekend is the state champs

Click here for the parents help roster for the weekend. I have not included the hot weather time as at this stage it is looking very unlikely that it is going to be too hot. The roster is over two pages (two days and some people have 2 roles over the weekend, some only have one). Please fill these roles to make the days run to time or you and your children will get frustrated.

The roles are not hard and help the days run smoothly.

If you are unsure of anything regarding your children’s events please contact me and I will try to help.

Please remember the key point. Be at the marshalling area at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time of your child’s event. The marshalling area is on the home turn and we will be setting ourselves up at this area as normal so please come and see us if any issues. Any problems/protests through the weekend should be lodged through the team manager which at this stage is me. Mobile number 0402 900 098.

Enjoy the weekend and have fun. Go the Gullies. Lets try to beat last years haul of 34 medals.

Regards

Hello to all

So we have received the program for the Improvers Games. I have as best I can, broken the program into three files that I have attached for all that are attending as well as a map of the arena. Salisbury LAC is at Creaser Park, Parafield Gardens.

  • A parent roster for both discus 1 and a shared role with Golden grove for Long Jump 3/Triple Jump. I have tried to either allocated a time where you will actually have a child competing at that area or your children are not in an event. We do need to fill these roles for the day to run smoothly. I have included a few Tiny Tots parents so please to those parents don’t get worried about helping. The experience people will treat you gently and I have given you a time that backs on to the end of the tiny tots so you won’t miss a thing.

  • A file with each child’s events.

  • The program for the day. This is a long file but if you use the each child’s events file and match it up with the program it will make sense. Believe me it is less confusing than what was sent to me. If you have any questions please email me and I will try to help out.

  • Tiny Tots will be run from 11am to 12am.

Have a great day all. Please help out when you are allocated and good luck to all the kids.

Hello all

Sadly this is the last home meet for the season.

Helpers for this weekend

Set Up- under 10 Girls and Tiny Tot girls please arrive at 7:45

Pull Down- under 11 girls and under 12 girls

A slight correction re the two days for the schools events. It was the 16th and the 29th of March. We are still looking for helpers so even if you are there as a parent on the day or have a day off and can assist that would be great. Please let me know.

Lastly- as yet I have not received a program for the Improvers Games. When I do I will forward it on. I will also attach a parent roster for the help on the day. As a club we have been allocated two discus rings and need to look after them during the day. I ask that all parents fill their role which will give everybody a chance to spend some time watching their kids compete. I am also going to include the tiny tots parents on this roster so the duties are shared out evenly.

There will also be a parent roster for the state champs. Please fill these roles also as we don’t want what happened at Multi events and events running a long way behind.

See you all Sunday. Don’t forget, last day to get the BBQ orders in for presentation day

Hello everybody

Parent help for this weekend is as follows

Set up- under 6 girls and under 8 boys. Please be there at 7:45

Pull down- under 14 and up girls and under 11 boys.

Please make an effort to help out. We have had a drop off of parent help in the last bit. I know the committee appreciates your help.

As you know our season is fast approaching the end. This brings us to the Presentation day and club AGM. We will hold a family BBQ for parents. The order form is Here. These forms need to be in by the 11th of March (last home meet) with correct money to the canteen. Each club child will receive a sausage, drink and ice block on the night. It is a great night with bouncy castles, face painters and disco to finish. The AGM starts at 4pm and we require one parent from each family to attend this. The other parent can keep an eye on the kids. I will send out an official invite later this week

The other request is for events coming up.

We have the canteen open for a school meet on Thursday the 19th of March. If parents are available to spare some time to help out during this day the club makes good money and many hands make light work. Mums and dads who have dropped their kids off and can help out would be fantastic.

We are hosting the TTG SAPSASA day on the 29th of March.

If you can help out in the canteen or do some official work on the day this would be excellent. The association gets paid for each official we get for these days and the canteen is our regular cash cow but needs people to make it so.

Please let me know if you are available and let’s not leave it to the same old few.

Regards and see you all Sunday

23/2/2012

Hello all

Here is the program for Sunday’s Multi event championships.

As usual our club will position ourselves under the big canopy on the home turn of the track.

The weather is looking at this stage like it is going to be 36 which means hot weather policy will come into play so please have a look at this and also the parent roster again for the alternative help. Plenty of water and sunscreen as well as hats. The canop does provide an amount of shade but bring a chair with you for a little comfort.

Regards and see you all there.

Hi everybody

Parents help for this weekend is as follows. As a committee we do appreciate your help.

Set Up under 6 boys and under 8 girls. Please arrive by 7:50

Pull down under 14 boys and under 10 boys. Please see me or another committee member at completion of your events

The other thing is regarding the Northern Improvers Games on the 18th of March. I have attached entry form and rules for those competing.

This is for ALL tiny tots and under 6’s to under 8’s. Also for all under 9’s and upwards that have not qualified for any more than 2 State Championships events.

It is a fantastic day for all and a chance for you children to compete against the children in our region. The info is there, please read it if you want to enter your children.

Same rules apply. Last chance to get forms in on Friday the 24th of February. Please understand we will not accept them any later than this date.

See you Sunday

5/2/2012

Hi everybody

Well the weather was not kind to us for the open meet but that’s life. Hopefully next season.

So to next weekend. The blue book and program on the web site is incorrect due to my error. This weekend will be program 3 and not the open meet as stated. Also the blue book says there is no meet on the 19th. That is incorrect and will be the open meet. Start time weather permitting will be 9:15 as normal.

Also for those that have qualified for the State Individual Championships for Under 9’s and up I have attached the entry form and program for this event. We will accept entries up until the twilight meet on Friday the 24th of February. Please understand as the club recorder needs to sign off all forms this date is not negotiable and therefore we will not accept forms after this date. Any questions please come and see one of the committee members. Money needs to accompany the forms.

See you Sunday. Please try to remember the Club raffle as well. Your support for this helps to keep the club equipment up to date.

Regards

Hello everybody

Firstly well done to all that nominated for the Multi Event Championships we had 57 nominations which is up from the 30 from last season. Great to see you getting into the fun of little aths.

So to this weekend-

This weekend’s Open meet will be held at Golden Grove Little Athletic Club. I have included the program and as you can see it is a full day. Please be aware of the times of events for your children. Turn up at those events at the allocated times and the clubs looking after the event will do the rest. Page three of the program also includes a map of the arena so you know where to go for the events.

For ease of parking there will be a gate open on Yatala Vale Road that will go onto a paddock. The President from Golden Grove has asked that ours and Golden Groves families park in this area for the day to ease the parking worries.

The only other issue is the help on the day. Our club has been allocated Track 1, High jumps 1 and 2 to look after. Whilst the committee will be looking after the majority of the key roles at these events we do need your help to fill in the rest of the roles. Can I ask that each family has one parent offer their time out there for at least 30 minutes to lighten the load on the committee. Remember these are put on for your children so you do need to help to make it a smooth running success. If we do not get the required help I will need to approach people to assist and this is not my preferred option.

Thanks and see you all Sunday. 9:30 start so get there for 9:15.
